　オープンソースの音楽プレーヤー「Songbird」のバージョン1.0.0がリリースされた。対応するOSは、Windows、Mac、Linuxとなっている。
　初期のベータ版を見たことがある人は、Songbirdのインターフェースは、ウェブブラウザ「Firefox」の影響を強く受けているという印象を持ったかもしれない。その後のバージョンは、iTunesからヒントを得たようだ。
　音楽ライブラリのレイアウトは、直感的な操作を可能にしている。アルバムアートは左隅に表示され、その上にはナビゲーションツリーがある。楽曲コントロールは、表示場所をメインウィンドウの上または下に設定することができる。
